Coffee is Life

"What is that?"
"Coffee or life as my mother sometimes calls it."
"Well it sure stinks!"
"Yes and I hear my mother say life stinks sometimes."
"So why does she drink it?"
"Because she says it gives her life."
"Where is her life going?"
"She says work sucks the life from her, aunt Carol sucks the life from her, her kids often suck the life from her and sometimes I hear her say 'life sucks'."
"Wow, I guess it works 'cause she is still alive. So why do you have a cup?"
"I figure if I feel pretty much alive and have all my parts still to myself that maybe coffee will give me superpowers and then I can go around and save all of the adults from having the life sucked out of them."
"What if it tastes gross?"
"We'll come up with something else. Maybe eat more spinach."

It's your fault::jerryberry

You could blame it on the cat, but you were the one who decided to play with your dominoes in your cat's favorite room on your cat's favorite table in-between your cat's morning and afternoon nap. So really, it's your fault.

A New Year

"This year is going to be the best year ever, but to ensure we accomplish all of our goals, we must write them down."
"Hmmmm, now what do I want to get done?"
"No, not that...boring. And that, tried that last year and that didn't work out. My mom said I should...heck no, I am not listening to anyone..."
 "I guess I could write down...ugh..."
"All of this planning is boring the energy out of me."

"This feels nice."
 "Pretty cool huh?"
"I know, let's write a goal that you learn to fly."
 "Well that was easy....now what?"

Santa's Elves

Doing your very best
Is all you can ever do
Even if it's your worst
It will just have to do

For Christmas is almost here
And Santa is depending on you
We are all his little elves
Him, she, me and you

New fishes

"These fish just don't seem to be getting any bigger. I fed them a hamburger the other day and nothing...they are still the same size!"

"I have an idea! We will use this magic dust I made at school. My teacher gave us a few magic words and some old glitter from her grandpa's house. She warned us of its magic and made us promise to be careful when using it."

"We will add just a bit."

"Now it is time to wait and see. Henry, when they do grow big just know...they are friends, not food."

Always a little lost

Sometimes in the middle
I often lose my way
Troubled with the symptoms
Of a wasted wilted day

They suggest some drops of this
A few squares of this and that
But I believe in neither
For being lost is where it's at

Little Light

Little light
Twinkling bright
I wish I may
A wish tonight
That everyone
Big and small
May feel your love
Most of all
